Synopsis: The main character is the son of a Nazi officer who takes a major position in a
concentration camp, he leaves Berlin and moves to a secluded area where there is not much to
do. The problems begin when he decides to explore the place and ends up meeting Shmuel,
a boy of similar age, who lives in striped pajamas and is always on the other side of an
electrified fence. Without knowing the true nature of his father's work, and neither does
Shmuel's nature, friendship grows between the two, and he passes, more and more, to visit him,
making this relationship dangerous. The film shows the way the Jews were treated which
contributes to make the end even more exciting. Although we usually prefer books, the film was
able to recount the story in an exciting and complete way as the book.
