Until 1920, there wasn't alarm clocks. Instead, people were used to hire a man ("knocker-up") for being responsible to wake them up at the right hour. Using a stick, the man went around the houses knocking the windows, awakening everybody. What is such a curious habit as I see it. Our society survives in the middle of a super advanced technology, which turns every single action as fast and as practical as possible. Sometimes, it is hard to imagine how it would be like living in a totally different culture or time, away from all our comfort and 'privacy'. Would you like to have your comfort and privacy taken away from you ?
